How we work

From your 3D file to a running mold, in six controlled steps

Offshore tooling projects fail on process, not on machines: approvals that drag, changes that are never documented, trials that happen without the customer seeing data. This is the exact sequence we run, the decision that belongs to you at each step, and what you receive at the end of it.

Quick answer

Send 3D CAD (STEP, IGES or X_T), the resin, your annual volume and target market. Within 1–2 business days you receive a mold price, molded-part price, cycle estimate, cavity layout and a written DFM report. After you approve the mold design we machine the tool entirely in-house — typically 15–30 days — then run T1 samples with a dimensional report, correct until sign-off, and ship the mold with drawings, certificates, parameter sheet and a spare-part set. The tool is your property throughout.

The six steps

What happens, in order, and what you get

Each step has one owner on our side and one decision on yours. Nothing moves forward without it.

  1. Step 1 — RFQ, DFM review and quotation

    You send: 3D data (STEP/IGES/X_T preferred), 2D drawing if tolerances are specified, resin grade, annual volume, appearance requirements and target market.

    We return: a written DFM report listing manufacturing risks in order of severity, a proposed cavity layout and steel grade, a mold price with lead time, a molded-part price and a cycle-time estimate. If the part cannot be molded as drawn, you hear it now — not after the tool is cut.

  2. Step 2 — Mold design and your approval

    We produce: full mold design in 3D plus 2D drawings — parting line, cavity/core layout, gating, cooling circuits, ejection, sliders or unscrewing units, hot runner selection, steel grades and standard components.

    You decide: any change to cavity count, gating position, surface finish or steel grade. Cutting starts only after your written approval, because changes are free on screen and expensive in steel.

  3. Step 3 — In-house machining

    We do: CNC milling, slow-wire EDM, die-sinking EDM, grinding, polishing and texturing on 36 machines — sequenced inside our own plant. Standard components and hot runner systems are ordered to match the design schedule.

    You see: a weekly progress report with photos of the actual tool, plus fast answers on any design question, because there is no subcontractor between us.

  4. Step 4 — T1 trial and sample parts

    We do: assemble and check the mold, mount it on one of our 20T–300T presses, run the first trial under the planned process settings, and measure the parts on the CMM against your drawing.

    You receive: T1 sample parts by courier, a dimensional report, a short video of the mold running and the proposed molding parameters.

  5. Step 5 — Correction and validation loop

    We do: steel corrections, gating, cooling or ejection changes, texture and polish tuning — whatever the trial data says is needed — then re-sample and re-measure until the part matches the drawing and the appearance requirement.

    You decide: when the samples are approved. The approval is documented with the measured report that goes with it.

  6. Step 6 — Shipment or production

    Option A — tool shipment: the mold is inspected, rust-protected, packed for sea or air freight and shipped with drawings, certificates, parameter sheet and spare-part set. We support the transfer to your own molder.

    Option B — we keep molding: the tool stays on our 20T–300T presses and we run your annual volume, with dimensional reports per lot on request and assembly/packing available.

Timeline

Typical schedule for a standard production mold

Indicative durations for a mid-size production tool in 718H or NAK80 with a straightforward cavity layout. Complex unscrewing, multi-material or large multi-cavity tools take longer — and we tell you the realistic number in the quotation.

Working with us

Communication, payment and change control

One engineer, one thread

Your project has a named engineer who answers by email or WhatsApp — including voice notes and short videos of the mold when a picture beats a paragraph. A flat management chain means an escalated question reaches the owner on the first hop.

Change control in writing

Every engineering change after design approval is recorded with its cost, its effect on the schedule and the drawing revision it belongs to. No undocumented steel cutting.

Payment terms

Typical terms for export tooling: deposit at order confirmation and the balance against pre-shipment inspection photos and videos. Alternative splits can be discussed for long projects. Quotations are issued in USD, EUR or CNY.
