IMD/IML shells in multiple colours

One tool, many colourways — the economical way to offer a product range without a mold per variant.

  • Made in-house in Dongguan, China
  • Mold work to ±0.01 mm
  • 30 presses 20T–300T on site

Range of small injection molded shells in many colours decorated by in-mold labelling
Photographed in our plant in Humen, Dongguan

Running a product family in several colours is normally a tooling problem: more colours means more cavities or more tooling. With in-mold decoration the colour and pattern come from the film, so a single cavity produces the whole range and the variant is decided at the molding stage.

That also simplifies inventory: molded blanks, decorated on demand. We size the mold for the combined volume of all variants and confirm the decorative process on trial samples before the range goes into production.

Typical applications

  • Consumer electronics shells
  • Phone and accessory cases
  • Colour-variant product families
  • Promotional ranges
