IMD gradient bezel and cover lens

Gradient and depth-effect decoration molded into a curved cover — the look of a coated lens without the coating.

  • Made in-house in Dongguan, China
  • Mold work to ±0.01 mm
  • 30 presses 20T–300T on site

Curved molded bezel with gradient in-mold decoration in green and blue tones
Photographed in our plant in Humen, Dongguan

Gradient and depth effects are achieved in-mold, so the part leaves the press with its finish already applied. For wearables and small electronics this removes a coating line, a drying step and the risk of coating defects.

Curved decorated parts are the harder case: the film has to conform to the curvature without wrinkling, and the cavity surface must be flawless because every optical defect is visible through the transparent layer. We specify the steel and polish class accordingly, and verify on trial parts.

Typical applications

  • Wearable covers and bezels
  • Smart watch components
  • Sensor windows with decoration
  • Small electronics covers
