Two-plate injection mold opened to show mirror polished cavity and core inserts
Photographed in our plant in Humen, Dongguan

This is the classic two-plate construction: cavity plate, core plate, guide pillars, ejector system and a polished shut-off boundary. The polished cores and cavities in the photograph are the surfaces that decide whether the part shows a flow mark or a polishing scratch in the customer's hand.

For cosmetic surfaces we specify NAK80 or S136 steel, machine the contours on 0.001 mm accuracy CNC and Makino EDM machines, polish by hand to the agreed SPI class, and protect the finish through assembly. Texture, gloss level and witness-line positions are confirmed on the mold design drawing before cutting starts.

Typical applications

  • Visible housings and covers
  • Cosmetic packaging components
  • Houseware with Class-A surfaces
  • Electronics bezels and lenses
