Injection mold with side-action slides

Undercuts solved with cam-driven slides rather than a redesign — for parts with side holes, clips, snap hooks or external features.

  • Made in-house in Dongguan, China
  • Mold work to ±0.01 mm
  • 30 presses 20T–300T on site

Injection mold with side-action slides shown in the open position on the toolroom bench
Photographed in our plant in Humen, Dongguan

Any feature that cannot be released along the opening direction needs a mechanism. The tool shown carries side-action slides: hardened slide blocks, angled pins or cams, and wear surfaces that are machined and fitted in-house at ±0.01 mm so the slides close reproducibly for millions of cycles.

Slides add cost and cycle time, so the DFM review always asks first whether the undercut can be removed by a small part change — a shift of a rib, a change of draft, or a snap detail that can be pulled instead of slid. Where a slide is genuinely required, we design it for serviceability with replaceable wear plates.

Typical applications

  • Parts with side holes or clips
  • Snap-fit housings
  • Handles and brackets
  • Automotive and appliance components

STEP/IGES/X_T files, the resin, your annual volume and target market are enough to get a mold price, a cycle estimate and the risks we can see — usually in 1–2 business days.
