Family mold for assorted small parts

Several different parts of one product in a single tool — the economical route when volumes per part are low but the assembly needs all of them.

  • Made in-house in Dongguan, China
  • Mold work to ±0.01 mm
  • 30 presses 20T–300T on site

Family injection mold in a green painted mold base with small molded plastic clips in front
Photographed in our plant in Humen, Dongguan

A family mold carries cavities for different parts that are used together: a housing and its clips, a shell and its insert, a toy body and its accessories. One tool, one press, one setup — and every shot delivers a matched set of parts in the same material and colour.

The engineering work is in balance: each cavity must fill at a similar pressure and cool at a similar rate, otherwise one part flashes while another shorts. We design the runner layout and the cooling for the family as a system, then confirm the balance with a trial run and measured samples.

Typical applications

  • Toy sets and juvenile products
  • Snap-together assemblies
  • Product families with different sizes
  • Spare parts and accessories
