Most mold failures are not in the cavity profile; they are in parallelism, flatness and the fit between plates. A cavity block that sits on an unparallel backing plate closes unevenly, flashes and wears out the shut-offs. That is why we machine, grind and measure plates ourselves instead of buying them in as a finished assembly. The photograph shows one of these plate components after machining.

Plates are prepared on our milling and surface grinding machines, hardened where the application demands it, and checked for flatness and thickness before assembly. Standard components, guide pillars, springs and water fittings are specified from recognised suppliers so your molder can replace them anywhere.
